Post by RustyHingeThe three weights are marked on the bottom - "L"."C", and "R" Is the "L" on my left as I face the clock, or should it be on the clock's Left as it faces the room (on my right then)?
If they seem to be equal in weight it won't matter.
If one is eavier than the other, it's probably the striking mechanism.

To err is human. To really foul things up requires a computer and the BOFH.
Coleen,
It is as you face the clock. The left and center weight should weigh the same. The right weight should be the heaviest. The right weight is for the quarter hour chime, the center weight is for the time and the left weight is for the hour chime. Some clocks have a different hanging mechanism for the quarter hour chime so you can't get them wrong. If the bonging bothers you, just wind the center weight weekly. The clock will run but not chime. Some clocks have an on-off for the chimes and some also have an AM-PM switch.
If you have other questions, please let me know.
