(too old to reply)

I'm trying to remove the stem from a Miyota 2115 and I can't seem to find a
button or release, etc. Checking their website I find the following message
on their assembly chart : "The setting stem is fixed completely with a
setting of the battery clamp. Thus a pull-out of the setting stem must be
avoided before setting the battery clamp. And the disassembly/reassembly
must be carried out with the setting stem pushed completely back to its
normal position."
Does this explain how to remove the stem and if so could someone translate
for me?

Thanks,

Jeff

"The setting stem is fixed completely with a
setting of the battery clamp.
The stem is held in place by the battery clamp, which must be removed to
remove the stem.

Looks like "remove battery clamp to remove stem. Install stem before
installing battery clamp, as battery clamp locks stem in place" to me.

Trevor - thanks for your reply. I did remove the battery clamp and the stem
did did not seem any easier to remove. Is a firm pull required to remove
it?

Sorry - I did this last night before I sent the original message. I
replaced the clamp and everything is working fine. Will pursue your
solution in the next few minutes.

just to clarify, it is not a hole as described in the pdfs, actually if
Miyota drew in the shape of the setlever as well it would make more
sense, the "hole" is a dimple at the tail end of the setlever, my tool
of choice is a gramophone needle held in a small pinvice, anything
similar will work just as well, just press firmly(not too hard!) down on
the dimple and pull the stem & crown out.
