How old is this mini Seiko ladies windup?
(too old to reply)

I can't find this watch in the date of production lookup link on the
Seiko & Citizen Watch Forum. Nor did I get any answers specific to my
question.

It is a mini Seiko ladies windup. 1104-7040. Serial number 231181.

The face says "Seiko Rainbow".

Given the style of the watch and Seiko codes in their serial numbers,
this watch looks like being made in either 1962 or 1972.

Also - is there any literature on the nature and history of the 1104
movement?

I would inclined to say 1970s and on, should know, I repaired enough of
the fricking things during the 70s and 80s :)

actually it was quite a good movement, just as good as any swiss
movement at the time, the 1100A and 11A were the non-sweep seconds
version of the same base movement (1104A)

the only quirks with this movement is the click spring usually folds in
half and needs to be replaced, used to buy them in lots of 10, I think I
have few left but don't see the 11A around much these days, shame.

I think the 11a was the replacement of the earlier 10A which is circa
1960 or so I would guess
