Hi - can you tell me how to adjust the date on this watch please?

The watch looks like the two at the top of this page:
<http://www.omega-addict.com/constellation.html>, except it has both the
cross-hair design and the date window.

Many thanks,

Daniele

the 563 and on came with quick set dates, anything older ie; the 561 is
set the slow way, move the hands back and forth between 8:30pm and 12pm
until the correct date shows in the window

FYI with the 564 you merely pull the crown out all the way and push it
in one click repeatedly until the correct date appears. Again...avoid 8
P.M. to 3 A.M. during this change. This applies to the 564 not the
previous models including the 561.

I never got the feel for the pull out the crown date change of the 564
and it's ilk. I'd always manage to change the date when all I wanted to
do was adjust the time.

Interesting. I've owned a Pie Pan with the 564 since 1967. I've never
had that 'problem' or any other problem for that matter..

Haven't had a problem setting the date on two Omega Seamaster day-date
watches. One uses a 17 jewel xxx movement and the other a 24 jewel
jewel 752. The push-pull method is a little less convenient than
turning the crown, but it works.

Hey, I admit that I'm ham fisted!. The worst thing I've ever come
across was a "modern" quartz ladies Movado triple date moon phase.
Everything was controlled from the crown with several detents, date one
way, day the other, moon phase the hard way, topped it all off with a
tiny, impossible to read, too complicated dial.

Watch makers seem to take the same approach to dials that Microsoft
does to it's software. The more features the better.

Sun, moon and tide displays, date and date subdials with tiny pointers,
month and year display etc., just clutter up a dial imho and are
usually require bright light or a magnifying glass to read. Some
watchmakers go out of their way to make day and date difficult ro read
by eliminating selected values from the display.

I agree. A time only display can look really attractive and clean
because it doesn't have little windows clutttering things up. .

Sun, moon and tide displays, date and date subdials with tiny pointers,
That's so untrue. Microsoft has all but banned pointers since .Net
emerged. ;-)

Even worse is figuring out what combination of turning and pulling is right
to set an Omega Day -date calendar.
