Hi;
I bought a ladies wittnauer watch at a garage sale for $10, because
it didn't work and the lady didn't want to spend money on it. It
looks to be quite recent, and is gold tone, with a rectangular face
with Roman numerals. The dial looks like mother-of-pearl, and has
what seems to be a row of diamonds down each side, about 12 on each
side. How can I tell if it is worth the money to repair it? An
estimate is about $100 to fix it. The serial number on the back is
976692 with an A4 next to the name. It also says sapphire crystal on
the back. Can anyone give me any info about this watch? Thanks so
much.

Is it like this one ?

It has the retail price there at $477.00. Even if it's not the same, it may be
similar and/or similarly priced.
In the end, most of the time a watch repair's worth is more or less a personal
choice. If you like the watch and see yourself wearing it, then a hundred
bucks is certainly worth it.

Hello;
Thanks for the info. That's the one. Glad to know it's worth
something. I had it fixed anyway, and it's a beautiful watch. I
appreciate the time you took to help me out.
All the
best;

Janis

Wasen't Wittnauer part of Longines? Longines/Wittnauer -
Wittnauer/Longines.I have an old Longines AM/FM/Clock Radio Model LCR
511, it has a lamp on it which swivels at different angles.I bought it
at a Goodwill store many years ago.The Radio and clock and lamp still
works just fine.

I never counted them before but I reckon I own over 300 old radios I
bought at thrift stores over the years.Some of them work OK, some of
them sort of kind of work, some of them won't say anything at all.

I'd have a look at completed auctions on ebay and guesstimate what you
could punt it on for.
