Hi. Having a problem with a 3 train 'British' Anvil movement (Made in Baden in 1920s). The strike begins too early after the last Westminster Chime. I assume it is the setting of the star wheel, but have not been able to establish whether it will rotate on the arbor to allow hammers to be in fully down position at end of strike sequence. Any thoughts? Best wishes to all.

Have you the minute hand upside down? Do you mean the minute hand is not
pointing exactly to the hour on the strike? Or is the chime train completing
all four quarters, with the strike train starts too soon?

Check that the strike hammers are not lifting during the warning wheel/rack
drop phase, prior to striking..

Hi Ian

Thanks for response. Chime is OK, it is the strike train - and the relationship with the star wheel of the hammers. It would finish with hammers raised and occasionally slip giving the random strike. I remade the lifting pin and that seems to have cured it.
